I have been working with students from around the world in outreach, counseling, admission, advising, and teaching for over 20 years. I’ve studied, lived, and worked in the U.S., Japan, the United Kingdom, and Belgium. And through my work in international education I’ve traveled to over 50 countries.
In May 2025 I joined the University of Minnesota as Director of International Recruitment after working in various international education and enrollment management positions at California Lutheran University and Augustana College (Illinois). I am an adjunct lecturer, teaching undergraduate Japanese and graduate courses in Retention, Counseling Theories, Leadership, and Comparative and International Education. My dissertation research is centered on the stories and lived experiences of LGBTQ+ international students as they traverse and transcend borders.
