In my full-time professional role, I am the Director of International Admission for the University of Miami in Miami, FL. This role takes me around the United States and Western Hemisphere recruiting the next generations of UM students. I am engaged in higher education associations like International ACAC and NACAC where I am serving on the ad hoc committee to identify DEI hiring best practices in college admissions counseling professional settings. I also founded and co-facilitate the Reading for Education and Access Leadership series supported by the Minnesota Private College Council. Academically, I'm interested in the built environment, impacts of policies on staff retention, and (un)seen borders. In my free time I volunteer to welcome asylum seekers with dignity across the southern stretches of the United States, read as many books as I can, and try new restaurants in Minneapolis.
