Biography

Profile

Prior to beginning an academic career, I worked in the field of human resources for more than 20 years and held staff and leadership positions at The Pillsbury Company, Personnel Decisions International, Ameriprise Financial (formerly American Express Financial Advisors), and Total Solutions Group. Today, whether teaching or consulting, my aim is to help individuals and organizations create environments, systems, and processes that advance their ability to flourish.

Students taking a class with me will experience hands-on, interactive learning as they are challenged to examine and critique traditional and emerging organizational theories, analyze how they are adapted in a variety of settings, and apply them to case studies, class activities, and co-curricular projects.

My goal is to construct an environment in which students are challenged to both absorb and interact with the existing body of research. I believe that when students use their own experience and knowledge base to access and derive applications out of existing knowledge, they create the foundation from which they can generate new, meaningful knowledge that will become working power in their lives and achieve the aims of education which are to acquire true wisdom, live well, and build good societies.
