Center for Sales Leadership + Education Newsletter

The Spring semester of 2025 has had a busy start!

In late January, we held a Traveling Sales Team Meeting where over 40 students from around the University of Minnesota came to hear about the opportunities CSLE has to offer to engage in real life sales scenarios. Our traveling team is complete and ready to compete in some of our events both near and far.

The week of February 24th, CSLE hosted over 165 role plays for students earning their Business Marketing Education major and/or the Sales Certificate.  A warm thanks goes out to all of our corporate members for their help in facilitating these critical academic activities and for giving them feedback on their role-play performances! The metamorphosis truly happened before our eyes!

Fun facts:

  • In 2024, 20+ students signed up for the traveling sales team.
  • In 2025, 30+ students signed up for the sales team, and 10 members returned to continue their sales journey.
  • Over 250 students have come through CSLE over the past few years. Most if not all of them gain opportunities they may not have had, due to the support of instructors and our corporate partners.

    7th Annual Twin Cities Collegiate Sales Competition April 9 -11

    The University of Minnesota and the Center for Sales Leadership & Education are proud to be present at the upcoming 7th annual Twin Cities Collegiate Sales Team Championship event at Huntington Bank Stadium, April 9- 11! We will be welcoming over 70 students from 17 different universities, providing real sales experiences with an exciting case and a career fair!

    The 2025 CSLE Traveling Sales Team

    Since 2022, the CSLE has supported students in obtaining a University of Minnesota accreditation in sales through the College of Education and Human Development's Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development. So far, this academic year, we have had over 35 students engage in this important career-advancing opportunity. For more details, refer to the certificate website and flyer.

    Why did you join the Traveling Sales Team?

    I joined to gain experience and network with companies who are affiliated with the Sales Center”- Ana Johnson

    I was here for extra credit points, it ended up being a super cool experience. Anyone who is interested in joining, do it because it's not stressful at all. Meeting tons of people and recruiters has been a fun experience.”- Sam Maples
