I have 19 years of experience as a public school educator in Grades PreK-12. Having a heart for social justice and equity, I have dedicated my career to serving underserved communities as both an educator and a school/district administrator. International education is my forte, and my career has taken me across the globe participating in teaching, observation, and research. During the 2019-2020 academic year, I was selected to be 1 of 35 women in the nation to be a part of AASA’s Female Superintendent Cohort.
My work in higher education has given me experience in teaching, supervising, and mentoring university students from public and private universities across Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Additionally, I have presented at numerous local, state, and national conferences. My career aspiration is to work for UNESCO's education sector and believe my studies in International and Intercultural Education at the University of Minnesota will prepare me for that work.
In my free time, I enjoy immersing myself in the arts, traveling, and going on outdoor adventures with my dogs, friends, and husband.
