Biography

I am dedicated to advancing equity in higher education. As a first-generation college student and Hmong-American scholar, my personal experiences shape my research interests. My work and research interests examine the intersection of higher education, policy, and historical legacies, focusing on access, retention, and support services for underrepresented and non-traditional student populations.

I am currently the Coaching and Retention Graduate Assistant for the President's Emerging Scholars (PES) program. In this role, I design and implement initiatives aimed at retaining students while offering holistic, one-on-one coaching support to PES participants. Prior to this position, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for INTER-LS 210: Taking Career Initiative, and I served as the Programming Coordinator for both the Summer Collegiate Experience and the Peer Mentoring Program at the Center for Academic Excellence, all at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
