Jeff Walls wins early-career award
Jeff Walls, graduate of the PhD program in Higher Education from OLPD, is being honored as co-recipient of the Emerging Scholar Award from the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Division A. The award is given by the division in recognition of a pre-tenure scholar who is in the first five years of their career and has made outstanding contributions to the field of leadership, administration, or organizational theory.

Last year, the Journal of Professional Capital and Community (JPCC) awarded Walls the Michael Fullan Emerging Scholar in Professional Capital and Community Award. Walls' application highlighted his commitment and contributions to the ongoing development of professional capital in his own professional community in Northeast Washington state, along with a strong and sustained publication track record focusing on explorations of caring leadership, values, and value-infused decision making in schools, all of which evidence his deep engagement and value in the field of professional capital and community.
