I am an Assistant Director for Student Programs and Advising in the Center for Community-Engaged Learning at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Prior to my work at the U of M, I worked at the University of Kentucky where I ran the Alternative Service Break (ASB) program. ASB programs provide students with immersive experiences in communities across the country and world. These programs are built on a foundation of education, direct service, reflection, and community partnerships. My research interest stems from my experiences with ASB programs. My research will center on interviewing community partners to gain learn about their perspectives on the outcomes, benefits, and challenges of ASB. I am also actively involved in ACPA- College Student Educators International and have served in several leadership capacities throughout my time as a member of ACPA.
